Hola! My name is Alix Scott and I am thrilled to start another year in Grandview. I am also very excited about having your son or daughter in my Spanish class! I am very passionate about what I do and believe that learning a new language is an exciting, possible and always worthwhile journey. I believe that learning a new language has the power to alter cultural perceptions, break down barriers and ultimately change lives. I hope that this year spent in my classroom is life changing!
I am a graduate of Ashland University and a Columbus born native. I currently live with my husband and 2 dogs in Columbus. I love to cook, read, exercise and travel the world. While in school I worked 3 years at the primary level at a bilingual preschool. I have also worked for 10 years at the secondary level teaching various levels of high school Spanish. This year in Grandview I will teach 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade and Spanish II. In addition to the experience I have had inside the classroom, I have also had many opportunities to expand and develop my languages skills and cultural knowledge through travel to various Spanish-speaking countries. I lived abroad for a year as an exchange student in high school and have also been a part of missions trips and study abroad programs in both college and as a young adult. I look forward to not only teaching and sharing the Spanish language with your child but also it’s rich culture!
