Grandview Heights Schools teacher Susan Falk describes how the outdated classroom environment plays a factor in educating students in the modern world of education.

I'm Susan Faulk I teach third grade at Stevenson Elementary and we have been working really hard to incorporate Steam and project-based learning into our classrooms we've done a job that we've had some challenges some of the challenges we've come across is having some storage space for the kids to keep their projects and maintain them so that they can continue working on them because we're in a self-contained classroom and still need to be able to do some reading and writing some sitting down at desks and working on computers we visited other schools to see what opportunities they had and one of the things that we were really Amazed by is there innovative the space there were all kinds of opportunities to open and closed spaces to make it be small and intimate when they needed it and to be open and spacious when they needed it to have see-through spaces where teachers could Mana what students are doing but still have a small space for for closing off doors and opening up Windows there were just all kinds of different ways to utilize space that we had never even thought of that opened up the ability to teach and learning in new and different ways
