Congratulations!

The Grandview Heights High School Model United Nations Team swept the competition at the National High School Model United Nations (UN) Conference, held March 18-21, at the United National Headquarters in New York City, NY.

Grandview Heights High School Model UN Team received first place for Research and Preparation and third place for Committee Performance.  These are the only two awards presented at this conference, the world's premier conference held at the United Nations Headquarters.

This annual conference, in which students roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees, included 2,500 high school students from around the world.  Thirty students or student pairs were selected for individual recognition including two pairs from Grandview Heights High School.  Congratulations to Cody Allen and Carter Black and Maria Ionno and Vivian Chute who were selected and invited to speak at the closing ceremony.

Allen and Black also earned individual awards for excellence. Their performance, combined with the work of Tyler Schmied, Harvey Pierce, Connor Hayes, Sabrina Li, and Devin Yeager, resulted in Grandview Heights High School being recognized as a, if not the, top school at the conference.  Team adviser is GHHS teacher Caleb Evans.  The trip was generously funded by a Grandview Heights Marble Cliff Education Foundation grant.
