The Cake Walk is a 70+ year tradition in Grandview Heights and currently serves as a major fundraising event for the GH Band Parents Association. For more details on the history of Cake Walk in Grandview Heights, please click here.
The premise is simple: Purchase a ticket for a chance to walk in a "cake circle" (a circle of chairs, each with a number on it), with other people while the GH Bands play music. When the music stops, everyone sits down on a chair. The master of ceremonies draws a number out of a random number hopper and announces it, and the person sitting in the chair with that number wins a cake - huzzah! It's that simple, but it happens over and over again all night long, until all the cakes are gone.
