District Mourns Loss of High School Counselor

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that Grandview Heights Schools shares the  devastating news with our school community of the sudden passing of our beloved High School Counselor Bryan Stork on July 2, 2026.

For so many of us, Bryan was truly the center of Grandview Heights High School. He was a foundational pillar of support, a source of unwavering positivity, and a guiding light for countless students, staff members, and families throughout his time with our district.

Bryan was a rare individual who was as kind as he was genuine and selfless. He dedicated his life to listening, understanding, and lifting others up. No matter how busy his day was or how long his to-do list grew, he always made time for everyone who walked through his door. He had an extraordinary gift for making every single person feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. His absence leaves an unimaginable void in our hallways and in our hearts.

An unexpected loss like this is incredibly difficult to process, and it affects our entire Bobcat family. Because Bryan spent his days caring for the mental and emotional well-being of others, we want to ensure we do the same for our community during this painful time.

To support our students, staff, and families as we grieve, Grandview Heights Schools has activated our Crisis Response Team.

The School’s Crisis Response Team is in communication with Bryan’s family to extend our deepest condolences. Additionally, members from the district-based mental health team are in the building today.  Please be assured that team members will continue to provide support to students and staff as long as a need exists.  We will share information regarding funeral arrangements, memorial services, or ways to honor his legacy as soon as those details become available and with the family’s permission.

In the days and weeks ahead, please lean on one another. Let us honor Bryan's memory by practicing the very same selflessness, kindness, and genuine care that he gave to each of us every single day.  A GoFundMe account, created to support Bryan's final expenses and the children's future, can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/celebrating-bryan-v-storks-life-and-legacy
