Stevenson Elementary School Principal Update

Grandview Heights Schools is excited to announce that Jeremy "Mo" Ross is slated to become the next principal of Stevenson Elementary School. Superintendent Andy Culp will officially recommend Mr. Ross for the position at the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting later this month.

Ross brings over a decade of proven elementary leadership experience to Grandview Heights, characterized by a strong track record of academic excellence, positive school culture, and deep community engagement.

Since 2013, Ross has served as the Principal of Wyandot Run Elementary in the Olentangy Local School District. Under his leadership, Wyandot Run consistently achieved an overall 5-star rating on the State Report Card and earned the prestigious "Momentum Award" from the Ohio Department of Education in 2018, 2019, and 2023. Known for cultivating an exceptional learning and working environment, Ross consistently led his building to rank above the district average on staff culture and climate surveys. His leadership is marked by collaborative, community-focused initiatives, including the development of a robust Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, the implementation of "Wyandot Way Time" to support student needs, and facilitating community-wide book studies.

"We are thrilled to welcome 'Mo' Ross to the Grandview Heights Schools family," said Britt Stockdale, PTO President. "His extensive experience as an accomplished elementary principal, combined with his dedicated focus on the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student, makes him the perfect fit for Stevenson Elementary. He is a proven leader who knows how to inspire staff, connect with families, and help students thrive” said Andy Culp, Superintendent.

Prior to his tenure at Wyandot Run, Ross served as the Assistant Principal at Olentangy Meadows Elementary, where he led staff through key state standards transitions and teacher evaluation systems. He began his career in education as a physical education teacher at Glacier Ridge Elementary in Dublin City Schools, where he chaired the School Advisory Committee and served as an assistant basketball coach for Dublin Jerome High School.

"My objective is to use my leadership experience and passion for education to help all Stevenson Elementary students acquire the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to be successful in life," said Ross. "Grandview Heights is a special community with a rich tradition of supporting its schools, and I am incredibly eager to partner with the outstanding educators, students, and families at Stevenson."

An Ohio native and graduate of Big Walnut High School, Ross earned his Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education from Otterbein University, where he was a member of the National Championship basketball team and served as team captain. He holds a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership and his administrative licensure from Ashland University, where he is currently pursuing his superintendent licensure.

The recommendation for Ross's administrative contract will be presented to the Grandview Heights Schools Board of Education for formal approval at its June meeting. A community "Meet the Principal" event will be announced later this summer to give Stevenson families and staff an opportunity to welcome Mr. Ross personally.
