Larson Middle School is proud to announce its September Attribute of the Month honorees: Ruby Szabrak (4th grade), Zoe McCain (5th grade), Layla Sperry (6th grade), Micah Mazzotta (7th grade), and Simon Borkowski (8th grade).

Each month, Larson Middle School highlights students who exemplify key traits of our Attributes for Success. For September, staff selected these five Bobcats for demonstrating exceptional dedication to being Intentional Communicators by expressing ideas clearly, listening actively, and engaging respectfully with others.

Here is what LMS teachers shared about this month’s honorees:

• Ruby Szabrak (4th Grade): During a collaboration project with a 2nd grade class, Ruby was open to working with a student who needed extra help. She did a wonderful job asking questions directly to the student instead of the adult helping them.

• Zoe McCain (5th Grade): Zoe is a thoughtful communicator who takes time to listen and share her ideas with others. She expresses herself clearly, listens to different perspectives, and helps make sure everyone has a chance to be heard.

• Layla Sperry (6th Grade): Layla asks thoughtful questions and actively listens during instruction and direction. During labs, she works well with her group members and is sure to share her ideas and listen to others.

• Micah Mazzotta (7th Grade): Micah shares encouragement and demonstrates genuine care for both his peers and teachers many times each day. In the classroom, at cross country practices, and beyond, he is a positive leader with a huge heart who serves as a source of support, thoughtfulness, and care.

• Simon Borkowski (8th Grade): Simon does a great job communicating upcoming absences and making a plan to stay up to date on his coursework. He expresses ideas clearly in class and engages respectfully and with genuine curiosity.
