Congratulations to the winner of the grades 4/5 geography bee for 2013 - Fifth grader Emily Rutter! Emily and fourth grader Mikael Black were 1 and 1 after the first question of the championship round, then both missed the second question. Emily answered the third question correctly, giving her the title. Emily will now take the state qualifying test in hopes that she will move on the state competition in April. All the contestants did a great job! Those competing were: representing the fifth grade - Emily Rutter, Kieren Bode, Kai Iisaka and Ashley Rosinski, and representing the fourth grade - Mikael Black, Sasha Pomerants, Grace King and Connor Hayes.
