Growing Skill Sets

Enabling students typically has a negative connotation, but not this type of enabling.  Academic enablers are attitudes and behaviors that allow a student to participate in and benefit from instruction in the classroom.

Seventh grade students at Larry Larson Middle School recently participated in a course based on the book
Make the Grade by Lesley Schwartz Martin.  Students focused on learning about and enhancing their motivation, classroom engagement, organization, time management, prioritization, and study skills.  These skills significantly influence and promote achievement as students progress through middle and high school curriculum.
