Grandview Gives Back

Grandview Heights City Schools "Commitment to Excellence" is evident in the classroom and in the community.  Grandview Heights students, staff, and community are engaged in a variety of charitable giving opportunities this holiday season.  Please see below for more information and how to participate.

Kids’ Club Families are participating in Adopt-A-Family for the holidays.   Contact Director Colleen Adkinson at [email protected] for link and sign up information.  Deadline to contribute gifts is Monday, December 14.

The Edison Intermediate/Larry Larson Middle School Student Council and Builder’s Club are helping hungry families in Central Ohio by collecting non-perishable food items December 1 through 12.  Each homeroom has a collection box.  Items most needed are canned meat and tuna, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit, breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal, granola bars), and soups.  For more information and to donate, email [email protected].  All donations will be used to complete holiday food gift baskets.

Community members can support the Grandview Heights High School PTO (a non-profit organization that supports educational and enrichment efforts for students and staff all year long) by dining at Eastern Bay located at 2055 Riverside Drive on Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7, by saying “Bobcat” when placing your order.  Dine in or carry out.

Each year, families in need may contact to Boulevard Presbyterian Church for assistance during the holiday season.  The tradition at Boulevard is to provide Christmas boxes to these families.  The boxes include food, gift cards and small gifts.  To accomplish this, support is needed in the following ways:

·      About 400 dozen cookies are needed to plate and put in the boxes.  Bake and deliver cookies to Boulevard's kitchen (lower level) no later than December 18.

·      Any kind of sport balls are needed for gifts for older boys and girls (up to 1,000 children) --basketballs, soccer balls, footballs--both regulation and junior size.

·      Deliveries will occur on Saturday, December 20.  Drivers are need, especially those with vans.

If you wish to help in any of the above ways, you can contact either Becky Elliot at [email protected] or Allyson Engdahl at [email protected].
