Great Kindness Challenge

The Grandview Heights Schools are excited to participate in the Great Kindness Challenge, a national program, January 22 – 26, 2018. Our district motto throughout the week is “Choose Kind” each day.  The program purpose is a proactive and positive anti-bullying initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. The Great Kindness Challenge is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible.

Each school building will have its’ own activities to support kindness.  For example, Stevenson Elementary created a video to share with classmates (attached below).  At Grandview Heights High School, staff will be wearing buttons that say "Choose Kind”, select and post his/her favorite quote about kindness, and select a day to discuss one of the kindness quotes. Teachers will also give students a checklist with 50 suggested acts of kindness. Students can use this list or make up their own acts of kindness. The idea is for the kids to perform as many acts of kindness as possible during the week and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS!

This initiative is sponsored by the Grandview Heights Schools Student Services Department and is a follow-up program to the showing of the movie Wonder.
