A Musical Highlight

The Grandview Heights High School French program is collaborating with The Ohio State University and Denison University to bring two of Québec’s most enduring and celebrated musical artists to Columbus to celebrate la chanson québécoise and multiculturalism.

Bruno Pelletier has won the Félix (the Québécois version of the Grammy) an unprecedented seventeen times throughout his 30-year career, including three wins for Best Male Vocalist.   Mr. Pelletier rose to international fame in his role as Gringoire in the musical Notre Dame de Paris based on Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and has continued to amaze and enchant audiences around the world with his voice.

Julie Lamontagne is a multi-Félix award winning pianist whose two most recent projects have earned her the Félix for Jazz Interpretation Album of the Year.  With a solid training as a classical pianist, Ms. Lamontagne delights in exploring various genres of music and has collaborated on several critically recognized projects with some of Québec’s most well known recording artists.

The visit will culminate with a performance in the GHHS auditorium, located at 1587 West Third Avenue, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.  Admission is free for anyone affiliated with Grandview Heights Schools, but a ticket is required.  Mr. Pelletier will sing in French, Italian, and English, accompanied by Ms. Lamontagne on the piano.  Please contact Stephen Hedge ([email protected]) for further information and to reserve a ticket.
