The 1st Annual TRI the HEIGHTS Youth Triathlon welcomed 250 plus participants in grades K-8 and high school and parent volunteers. Youth racers experienced a spectacular swim in the brand new Grandview Heights Municipal Pool (transition area #1), then transitioned to a bike ride on a fully closed to traffic and volunteer-supported bike and run courses.
"Thank you all for supporting TRI the HEIGHTS Youth Triathlon. We had an amazing turnout of eager participants, student volunteers, parents, and school staff. The reward of watching a child face something challenging and successfully come out on the other side of it - I cannot describe how amazing it was for me to share in that scenario 250x," said Megan Hatta, an event organizer.
Following the race, participants enjoyed multiple fun activities and an awesome post-race party. This event was generously sponsored by the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Education Foundation, Grandview Heights Parks & Recreation, Pathways Financial Credit Union, Advanced Wellness Center, Home Advisor, and Signature Real Estate.
