Citizens of the Month October 2018

Honored students representing grades 4-12 are Anna Bullock, Claire Callif, Jillian Curfman, Aidan Deis, Greyson (Gracie) Ferris, Charlie Ferguson, Ruby Gentile, Connor Hayes, River Hobbs, Benjamin Matter, Kendall Miller, Linnea Miller, Howard (Giuseppe) Peppercorn V, Jason Reaser, Lydia Robertson, Jude Rosinski, Malik Shraim, Aubrey Young, and Key Club Representative – Anne Whitfield.  Superintendent Andy Culp, GHHS Principal Rob Brown, EILMS Principal Tracie Lees, and Grades 6-12 Assistant Principal Shawn Hinkle also attended the luncheon.

The Citizen of the Month luncheons began in 1980 to recognize students who demonstrate positive character and citizenship. During the luncheons students and principals are encouraged to dialogue about ideas and issues they have for improving the schools.  Past initiatives include introducing girls’ softball and gymnastics at the middle and high school; improved safety; student seats on home/school advisory councils; expanded student councils; and review and modification of procedures.

Students are selected because they exhibit to those around them that they can make good decisions about what they choose to do and how they choose to act.  These students have shown interest in making changes that improve the quality of life at Grandview Heights Schools.
