Great Kindness Challenge – Monday, January 28 – Friday, February 1, 2019

In every Grandview Heights Schools classroom this week, kindness is the topic of discussion and hopefully kindness will be dinner table talk on Thursday evening, January 31, when there will be no homework assessed district wide so that families can enjoy spending quality time together discussing the kindness week experience.

At Stevenson Elementary, students will be discussing different ways they can show kindness to others including collecting snack 200 snack packs for the Ronald McDonald House and recognizing students for random acts of kindness.  Each day will be spirit-wear themed as a reminder to be kind and to celebrate kindness. Click on the attachment to watch a Kindness Challenge video featuring Stevenson Elementary students.

Grandview Heights High School Youth to Youth Club members will visit Edison Intermediate/Larson Middle School to pass our Kindness Matters wristbands and share ideas of how EILMS students can show kindness in their classrooms. Each day teachers will lead discussions based on a list of quotes about kindness.  Click here https://youtu.be/RNStqyGg1OA  to watch a video created by the BCTV crew for students about Kindness Week.

At Grandview Heights High School, students and staff are wearing Kindness Matters wristbands and have been issued the “Kindness Challenge.” Students and staff are asked to perform as many acts of kindness as possible during the week and teachers are discussing kindness quotes with their classes.  The Key Club is placing a kindness note on every student locker.  The quotes and challenges are attached.

Many thanks to the Department of Student Services for coordinating this wonderfully kind week of activities.
