The Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) members share the depth of their research, analysis, and process in preparing the recommendation that they made to Superintendent Andy Culp regarding the facilities planning process. Based on the FAC's recommendation, Superintendent Culp made his final Facility Plan recommendation to the Board of Education on June 27, 2018.

communities don't go through this link to make sure we are making a good decision for the community Andy and Bax and team should be commended for the fact they stop kicking the can down the road and really when he became superintendent looked at let's look at our facilities and they can never had a major overhaul you need to have a major overhaul about 60 years on most buildings when I first heard that thought it was extravagant number also after touring the schools and looking at it and then starting to dig into you know construction and what really needs to be done I believe it is inflated number is a necessary amount there's several reasons that you do it on down one cost efficiencies of doing it now could kind scale everything but if you only do 20 hey you still have always are there cost eventually you're going to have to pay the bills going to come to for taking the initiative today to make improvements to make sure we're 88 compliant to update some of the systems that need to be updated would it be fiscally responsible to take a lower-cost option and then need to go back to the taxpayers in the future and ask them for more money when we just had the walls open it's been really interesting to work but for amateur to work under I'm either so many rules cuz a state funding in government rules that they have to follow and we're trying to navigate her way through probably in an older house understands knob and tube wiring so if you open up the wall your house and you have to promise to have until you can fix it for a little bit to hear legally you probably don't have to fix it further but in his school if you open up and you see something that's wrong you can't just fix it so I returned your life to fix the whole thing send that already and they're providing us with that data I mean this has been a long project window on going for over 2 years so we are being presented with Millet ratios from different communities as well as our own tax information enrollment information findings from different campus evaluations that opens on maintenance needs for each of the buildings to help us make some decisions and some recommendations to superintendent Cole send a good process cuz it's our input Indian bath really taken heart so we need to take a look at you know all the systems that need to be replaced and the money that we're going to need in the very near future to Justice systems and the $540,000 that we have for maintenance annually isn't going to cover that what are going to do a major rehab like this you really got to fix all those problems and you want to just fix a couple of things right now and you want to say what is the global problem how can we fix everything going forward obviously we need to do this is not a good idea to do a piecemeal approach the way I look at it is if you're going to borrow a lot of money and how is that correct time to borrow a lot of money because interest rates are very low rate but we are starting to Trend up and it's cheap money quite frankly the cheaper money because you can walk in clearly pee smelling it out will be more expensive if we choose to do nothing as a community are building they're going to get it start to get any younger they're going to continue to age than to continue to need more maintenance and it's going to be more and more expensive to maintain we have really old buildings and we've been kicking the can down the road on a lot of Maintenance and now we're at a time when we don't have any more road to kick that can spit or what's best for long-term for everyone
