Hello! I am Mr. Sauer (rhymes with flower) the visual art teacher at EILMS teaching all grades 4th - 8th. I am a lifelong Columbus resident, graduate of the Ohio State (go Bucks!) Art Education program, and have been working in different educational capacities for more than 25 years. The 2020 - 21 school year marks my 13th as an art teacher in Grandview. In my time in Grandview Schools I have been fortunate enough to work in each building (including the annex) and with every grade level, K - 12. However, I must admit that I am very happy to have found my home here at EILMS!
In addition to teaching art, I also love creating it. I am so fortunate to have a job that allows me to practice my craft by working on a lifelong hobby. Although I have always held simple pencil drawing as my favorite medium, I have found painting with acrylics and watercolors has become my medium of choice over the last 10 to 15 years. Aside from creating art, I love walking the woods, birdwatching, kayaking, camping, playing golf and softball, grilling, landscaping, gardening and hanging out with my large family and many friends.
My wife Stacy also works here at Edison Intermediate/Larson Middle School.
