This is an interview with the staff retiring from EILLMS. They share their fondest memories, advice for the students, and what they plan to do with their new free time.

probably my Fondest Memories that will always stay with me mom are with my 7th graders come to class and they come in as strangers you know uncertain about what seventh grades be like and then by the end of the year  we know each other really really well and I become very very fond of all of them because of their unique personalities and just their quirkiness their humor and what they what they teach me so I that's the best thing about teaching 7th grade boy that's really hard because I've been here 22 years so I've had a lot of really great memories here what are the most exciting ones I think was this year actually the first day of school just having seen so many changes in the school over years and seen a point at time when fourth graders and eighth graders were really separated yet the first day of school here we started our Bobcat groups in add teams of kids that work together and it was really exciting to watch those kind of almost like families get established on the first day all the kids came away from the first day really enjoying it having a great time so that's probably one of the one of the best memories I've had plus recently in teaching I would say one of my most fond and Vivid memories of Edison intermediate Larry Larson middle school has just been really a lot of memories of just a lot of fun and joy and laughter with staff over the years as well as with students I if I started telling all the different practical jokes from having a police officer come in and arrested cast member to all the fun things that students have done and just the things that have made me laugh and tell others I would go on forever so my vivid memory would be that big memory of all the fun joy and just laughter that's the special one to me that's a very difficult question I've been here for so long I have a lot of bending to know the kids and have them talk to you have them joke about with you I see them in the stores and the parents look at me like who is she talking to I really don't have any best memories of being at Addison I have many great memories but not one single memory so it's really hard to single out one particular memory all I guess the biggest message that I wanted so you guys is that I've had a fantastic time at Edison it's been my second family it's even created some great memories for me I have loved you all sincerely and I've had the best job that I could have ever had and I tell people that all the time and so I've really been blessed thank you for being a part of my life thank you for being part of Edison and for allow me to teach you for however many years I taught you so thank you well for students obviously it would be to read read as much as you possibly can and pay attention to how authors say things so that you can get operate some of their language into your writing and you're speaking obviously increase your vocabulary and then also to try try different onerous because sometimes she gets stuck in a particular genre and there's just just try different genres because there's always interesting things out there to read and the other thing is is that to always know that I have always always believed in you soap believe in yourself  what do you looking forward to doing with a little something for the staff I guess for this cast it's always to remember that every one of our students comes with their own story they have their own story there their story impacts them as as people how they act react and how they learn and sometimes their story gets in the way of them being the best they can be but continue to always believe in them I guess just two piece of advice is to just keep learning and enjoying learning and you know there are times when we all worry both kids and students about testing and all of the new things that are occurring in in teaching and in education in schools today but just to enjoy and to learn how to learn and because things change so fast it's great to be able to use the computer in to be able to use tools that you have around there to find out new information and and enjoy learning play the piece of advice I would give I guess staff and students this is probably no surprise really keep focus on learning it's always about learning it's it's not about a grade it's not about those things it's about just learning and always learning and making the most of your time your entire life cuz it's precious and it goes by fast I've been here 16 years I have learned a lot I look forward to learning a lot more but it has gone by fast so be a great learner all your life the kid do out here are all very nice and polite but I might buy you stairs they need to get to know on Main we have to run 400 name and they allowed some of them like to know when we have my one piece of advice is a quote that I have carried with me and and had in my office for a long time and it goes like this good better best never let it rest till your good becomes better and you're better becomes your best and the message I like to send that is always try to keep improving and whatever it is you're trying to do and that could be in my class with our physical fitness academics in your dreams whatever your dreams are to try to just keep working towards us don't give up you can't give up just keep working towards it good keep working at it till I gets better and hopefully it'll all go your way thank you where are there are lots of books to read there's a lot of weeds to pull in my garden there's a lot of paint cans that need to be opened and rooms to be painted and I have five adorable little grandchildren who need their DD's hugs and kisses so I'm looking forward to kind of playing in Los Angeles and in Washington DC how you have a cottage on a lake and I'm really looking forward to spending a lot of time down there we're just getting a new sailboat and I'm excited about sailing this summer spending more time all of my children turn are grown and off in different spots in the country so I'm really looking forward to traveling to go visit them and spending time with my granddaughter so yeah just time time to spend with family and friends what I look forward to doing next number of things I hope to keep working myself not sure where but I'd love to stay in the shroom get back into the classroom maybe as a substitute teacher something again because of my love for education and learning and just love the kids and staff and all a little more extra time on my hands maybe to go visit my grandchildren out in Washington or or maybe take my fly fishing rod and find a river and just spend a day they're certainly spending time with family my wife gardening so hopefully I'll have a little more time to do some of those special things the summer I'm going to be riding bike I have it written bike for a long time so I'm getting a new bike and a new helmet I have them friend them they all get together and we ride bikes to  some place for breakfast in the morning so I'm kind of looking forward to that just being able to go to Bishop my mom visit my grandchildren when they don't have school I'm just being able to get up in the morning when I feel like it not being on the schedule what am I going to do in my free time well that's a good question I've had a lot of class me what am I going to do now I don't really know what I'm going to do now I figured it is a journey I'm going to take but I don't know where it's going to take me know that I'm really going to enjoy the free time whether it be with my family whether it be for myself riding bikes hiking going to the gym without any restrictions I can't wait so it cooking believe or not I love to cook that I don't really cook that often because I have a lot of time so and I might even took a ticket a cooking class maybe but anyways my free time and I am looking forward to it but I'm going to miss you guys so much and I hope to come back and visit and if you ever want to
