04.03.2020 EILMS Friday Findings
Dear EILMS Families,
As we continue to move through this challenging time, there are many things going through our minds. First of all, I want you know that we are thinking about you each day and wish you the very best. I’m sure you all have been contacted by your grade-level teachers and your classwork and other school expectations have been clearly delivered.
Because we are in a place that is new to us, there will be some unpredicted situations that arise. Most of our classwork involves your connection to Schoology. Unfortunately, the platform was overwhelmed with activity earlier in the week and shut down. We have noticed that it has been running more efficiently, and we hope that is a sign for better days ahead. (Schoology status can be checked here.)
We will continue to publish our daily announcements on Schoology and will be sending weekly updates on what we will now call the Friday Findings. Please continue to share concerns and celebrations with us. Mr. Hinkle and I talk every day to discuss developments and how we can better serve our students’ and teachers’ needs.
Each of our grade levels is monitoring classwork progress for its students. Teachers have been answering questions from students and parents alike regarding clarity of the assignments. For the most part, this process has gone smoothly and the questions and concerns shared have been quickly resolved. This is not to say that our process of online learning has been spotless. The process is evolving daily, and we hope to continue to improve our methods and practices of keeping you up to date on the important developments as they surface.
Finally, our entire staff misses our students very much, and we know that they are going through a very difficult time. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions you may have. We will be clarifying topics like assessments, grading, finals, and end-of-year activities in our next Friday update, which is scheduled for next April 10.
